Booked a car with budget to collect from Aarhus airport. In Denmark it is a legal requirement to have winter tyres on if the road conditions warrant it. We arrived to snow on the roads and temperatures did not get above zero for the duration of our trip. This meant winter tyres were a legal requirement. Budget wrongfully drip charged us 125DKK per day and were happy to send us out in a car not roadworthy (summer tyres) if we did not pay. The car was noted to have minimal damage (in 2 places) and actually had damage to over 10 areas of the car. It was freezing cold outside (weather that required winter tyres) and the staff member refused to come outside to check. The car was absolutely filthy with mud all over the seats and sticky drinks that had been spilt in the cup holders. Do not hire from budget/avis literally don’t even risk it because on a side note we hired a car off then before and they charged us for fuel and then had to refund when we could provide photo evidence they were lying. If you are in the unfortunate position where you have already booked with them take videos and photos of every single conversation that you have with any staff member videos all around the car and off the fuel gauge before you take the car anywhere and when you drop the car back off. Unfortunately, you will probably be charged for extras that you have no choice in paying for And hopefully you will also leave a true review that shows what a disgusting company they are. It took ages for the money to come back to the card (over a week). I have added photos and it is important to note that I regularly hire cars in Denmark to visit my parents and never have any problem with any other company. Edit I have contacted you on the European social media you have ignored me. Clearly, this is just a standard reply to make it look like you want to do something. I have also contacted you by email on your online service and in person in the office.so in summary you clearly find this acceptable.
